Austin Realtor Brian Talley knows the secret of keeping the Austin economy strong: support local businesses. The Go Local section of his Austin blog regularly highlights established, noteworthy, and new local businesses and services, making it an ideal place to peruse for unique gift ideas. Purchasing local supports independent artisans and business, and Austin has plenty who contribute to the artistic and entrepreneurial cultural climate of both the city and the country.
The gift ideas span business locations all across the city, including south towards the luxury homes of Barton Creek, and far north towards Steiner Ranch, making it easy to quickly find a suitable gift if pressed for time. Featured businesses currently span from board game designers Fireside Games, to nationally recognized authors like Scott Sutton and his works for children, to trendy clothing like the popular stripedshirts and IceTee brands.
Its intuitive to support local Austin businesses, said Talley. We have fantastic people making wonderful products and running shops that are actually fun to visit, rather than stressful. Supporting them keeps their doors open and boosts the local economy, positively affecting all of us.
In addition to the Go Local section of the blog, shoppers can find suggestions for places to take visiting friends and family in his Iconic Austin section, news about happenings in the city, and events to attend, like the Blue Genie Art Bazaar or 2nd Street Districts Deck the District holiday walks.
